Live Production

Sick of running your own sound? I know the feeling. While covering bass and backup vocal duties in many different bands, I typically also took on the role of “sound guy”. After all, that’s what I went to school for and I’m not gonna lie, I love running sound. It is a passion of mine, and I love making people sound good. That never negated the fact that it was really difficult to adjust knobs and faders while both of my hands were busy playing my bass. Despite best efforts to set levels and effects before a show, things always change and tweaks always need to be made. In addition to the extra work, having to run your own sound can be stressful. This stress can affect your playing and performing, and in extreme cases, be noticeable to your audience. I know I’m not alone in feeling like that, and I always felt relieved when we hired someone to handle the audio/visual aspects of our shows.

This is where Beeps and Whistles can help…

Working musicians, I see you. I have designed my equipment and abilities to be moldable and flexible to most live situations. And just like my equipment and abilities, my rates are flexible as well. We all want to focus 100% of our time on the music, but the reality is that you also have to handle your business. Every penny counts, and you have to balance functionality with expense. That is why I have focused on creating an affordable service no matter the size of the event or the band.

Live Recording

Live sound is fun, but what if you wanted to record your show and have some nice clean-sounding tracks to share with your fans? I can do that too. With up to 32 tracks of simultaneous audio, I can record everything you do live and then mix it down and master it after the fact.

Rates for this service vary depending on your instrumentation, length of show, etc. Feel free to contact me and we can discuss your specific situation. I promise you it won’t break the bank.

Live Streaming

Covid turned the music world upside down. Venues closed, gigs cancelled, income lost. Not a good outlook for the performing arts. Luckily, technology has come such a long way that performers have been able to use tools like Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, and Zoom to get their material to their fans. I have developed a livestreaming system that works in conjunction with my sound equipment to get a nice clean audio mix to your listeners. Video is included as well, so they can get the full live experience from the comfort and safety of their living room (or wherever they are). Want branding and links to social media or digital tip jars as part of the stream? Easily done.

Live Visuals

Performing live isn’t just about the sound. Your audience wants an experience. Adding visuals and lighting can surely add some sparkle to your show. I have a projection screen backdrop and projector tied into a custom system that translates audio signals into visuals. If you remember the “visualizers” media players used to have, this is like that taken to the next level. This system will take your band logo or any other artwork and manipulate the shapes and colors of that artwork depending on the sound being sent to its processing unit. Using a submix, I can have visuals affected by any mix of instruments (ie. the visuals pulse or change color schemes every time the drummer hits the snare, or when the vocalist sings). The system will not only use artwork and logos, it can take a live video feed and manipulate that as well. The possibilities are endless. If you are livestreaming your event, we can use the visuals as a backdrop.
